Why we test before symptoms ever show up

Most chronic conditions announce themselves in bloodwork years before they announce themselves in how you feel.

Medicine is very good at treating disease and much worse at noticing the decade of drift that precedes it. Insulin rises for years before glucose does. ApoB accumulates quietly. Ferritin falls long before anaemia.

Early is not the same as anxious

Testing early only helps if the response is proportionate. A borderline number is information, not a diagnosis, and the right answer is often to change one thing and retest in twelve weeks rather than to start treatment.

What we do with a normal result

We say so, plainly, and give you a date to check again. Screening healthy people every quarter is a business model, not medicine, and we would rather you spent the money on something that changes an outcome.

The goal is a trend line you own — not a folder of one-off results you cannot compare.
